WSFS Bank Sportsplex
Clear Span Indoor Soccer Complex with Viewing Mezzanines
Located along the Delaware River waterfront in Chester, Pennsylvania, the WSFS Bank Sportsplex is a state-of-the-art indoor training and recreation facility built to professional soccer standards. The nearly 90,000-sf pre-engineered metal building, attached to an existing conventional steel structure, houses a 115 x 70-yard turf soccer field.
A gable symmetrical frame spanning 241’ x 362’ delivers a 250’ clear span with a 45’ eave, creating the open, column-free interior needed for full-size indoor soccer play. A cantilevered interior viewing mezzanine offers unobstructed sightlines for indoor matches, complemented by an exterior mezzanine for viewing the adjacent outdoor fields, and the structure was designed to also support a press box.
Durability and daylight were also priorities: insulated metal wall and roof panels from Metl-Span, finished in Regal White, provide a durable, energy-efficient enclosure, while translucent panels on one endwall bring in natural daylight.
